We are excited that you are considering international enrollment at Mount Airy Christian Academy (MACA). We look forward to partnering with you and your family for your education and cultural learning and perhaps your preparation for entrance to an American university. We hope that your time at MACA is full of strong relationships and memorable experiences that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. We believe that your time here is one step toward God’s greater purposes in your life.
MACA’s International Program accepts students in grades 9 through 12. MACA international students are provided with a rigorous academic program which prepares them well for college. The strength of our academics is proven by consistently high scores on the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, all indicators of success in college. MACA also offers students the opportunity to take courses through our Next Step Dual Enrollment Program. College courses in this program are offered on the MACA campus during the day. Students enrolled in Next Step classes may graduate from high school with up to a full year of college credits completed. Students are also given the chance to take part in extracurricular activities at MACA such as sports, drama, music, student government, Bible studies, discipleship groups, teacher’s aide, or Information Technology assistant training. Students who enroll at MACA are given every opportunity to experience America, receive a high quality high school education, prepare for college entrance, and foster relationships and memories that help to shape and enrich their future.
Students interested in enrolling at MACA must submit the following for application:
- Admission application (use this link to access the online application)
- Official English proficiency scores (TOEFL, or iTEP SLATE) sent to MACA International Admissions Office
- Proof of sufficient financial resources to cover one year’s expenses (submitted during application process)
- Academic records translated into English showing grades for current and previous school years
- Immunization records
- Personal Reference Form completed by an adult reference
- An internet interview with members of the MACA International Program staff
MACA has been approved to issue I-20 documents for international students who have been accepted by MACA and are applying for F-1 visas. Following the receipt of all the above items, the MACA International Office will evaluate a student’s fit for enrollment at MACA and a representative will contact you. Once a student has been offered admission to MACA, they need to send a non-refundable $2,000 deposit to the school in order to confirm their intent to enroll and reserve their enrollment in a particular class. This deposit will be credited toward their tuition. MACA will issue the official letter of acceptance and the student’s I-20 once this deposit has been received. You are welcome to check the status of your application at anytime by contacting Dr. Lori Sefton at lori.sefton@macamd.org.
Please contact us should you have any questions regarding MACA’s International Program and all our school has to offer. We look forward to meeting you!

Mount Airy Christian Academy Offers the Global Seal of Biliteracy
Mount Airy Christian Academy credentials with the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
The Global Seal of Biliteracy is an international credential that conveys proficiency with language skills in two or more languages for our students. The Global Seal of Biliteracy enables educators across the world to quickly validate a student’s language skills to provide appropriate placement in a language program, award college credit and even help earn scholarship opportunities.
The Global Seal of Biliteracy allows employers to easily verify our students’ language skills and be confident that they possess
valuable soft skills linked to language learners. We believe language credentials will result in pay differentials and increased employment
opportunities for our students. The Global Seal of Biliteracy is serial-numbered and can be added to a resume or LinkedIn under “Licenses & Certifications.”
The Global Seal of Biliteracy accepts multiple qualifying tests that we currently use in our classrooms so there is no added time or process for the students to receive this credential. Our school applies on behalf of students for the program and will handle the logistics of getting your student their Global Seal if they have qualifying test results. The Global Seal is and will be FREE for all.
