Race for Education

Students at MACA raised $19,636 in the annual MACA Race for Education, our annual fund-raising event sponsored by the MACA Parent Association. The race involved 253 MACA students from kindergarten to senior class, who gathered support from a total of 800 sponsors and then completed laps on race day on the school soccer field. Krissy Cook, PA President, presented Mrs. Vicky Webster with a “big check” representing the funds during the MACA Quarter Two Awards Assembly, February 4, 2016. Cook said that the students did an outstanding job of gathering funds, 100% of which will be used to support MACA academics. Cook also complimented the senior class who served as hosts for the day, helping younger students to complete laps, counting laps and helping with clean up.

Students recognized for most laps completed included 6th grader Grayson Cook with 57 laps, freshman Braeden Teixeira with 63 laps and senior Brady Smith with 67 laps. Highest fund collectors were also recognized, including 2nd grader Karley Beall, 5th grader Joseph Clark, 7th grader Thomas Conger and freshman Josiah Leake. Maca appreciates the support of the Parent Association, student racers, donors and parent volunteers, who’s work makes possible the enrichment and growth of the programs at MACA.
