The National Honor Society is excited for Operation: Christmas Child. We will be collecting donations over the next four weeks to pack boxes for boys and girls aged 5-14. Collection dates for specific items are listed below, but if you would like to turn in all your items at once we will certainly accept them!
- Sept. 17-21: “Wow” items – balls, dolls, yo-yos, small cars, stickers, harmonicas, jump ropes, slinkys, backpack, inflatable soccer ball (make sure to include a manual air pump so that the ball can be reinflated), playing cards.
- Sept. 24-28: Clothing – socks, shirts, hats, beanies, gloves, scarves.
- Oct. 1-5: Hygiene items – Toothbrushes, bar of soap (in a bag), comb, hairbrush, washcloth, band-aids, stick deodorant, compact mirror, non-liquid lip balm.
- Oct. 8-12: School supplies – Pencils, small manual pencil sharpener, colored pencils, pencil case, pens, crayons, markers, notebooks, blank index cards, scissors, ruler, protractor, glue stick, small adhesive tape.
Items NOT to bring: Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
Please ensure that all items are small enough to fit into a standard-size shoe box. Items will be collected in the lobby.
