Mount Airy Christian Academy is pleased to offer MACA Next Step, a dual-enrollment program that provides college courses to MACA high school students during the school day on the MACA campus. MACA students are able to complete up to 24 hours of college coursework during their HS career. Course instructors are approved Adjunct Professors through Lancaster Bible College (LBC). Because LBC is accredited by both the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and The Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation, students who complete MACA Next Step courses are able to transfer the credits to two and four year colleges throughout the nation. Through MACA Next Step, students are able to start their college transcripts while finishing high school diploma requirements at the same time.
“We are interested in providing our students with every opportunity to remain competitive as they enter college,” states Vicky Webster, Head of School. “Our quality faculty and our strong relationship with LBC allow us to offer our students more. This program makes college-level courses available to our students right on our campus taught by Christian instructors. We are very pleased to be able to provide this program to our MACA family.”
Students may choose from English Composition, US History, Public Speaking, Intro to Business, Intro to Chemistry, Hermeneutics, Old Testament 1 and Old Testament 2. The cost of the program for MACA students is only an additional $200 per class to cover the Dual Enrollment Fee from LBC. “We want to make these courses available to our high school students, but we recognize we must do so while ensuring the courses are affordable for our families. We have worked closely with LBC to ensure we can do that,” explains Webster.
