MACA “ABOVE” Initiative

At the beginning of the 2016-17 academic year, Mount Airy Christian Academy’s Secondary Principal, Mr. Patrick Korn, announced the start of the MACA “ABOVE” Initiative. This program is a three-pronged strategy designed to empower students and staff with the skills, training, and education to create a campus culture which fights cruelty and promotes kindness. Students are empowered to “be there” for others, providing kindness, hope, and support. As part of this Initiative, MACA “Above” Groups were created. These teams are designed for students who are passionate about raising awareness and becoming part of the solution. Desiring to assist and educate their peers, the Middle School “Above” Group created a video which challenges us all with the question, “Will you take a stand against bullying?” High school technology students Will Brethauer and Eli Schaefer filmed and edited the video.
